FAMILY REUNION AROUND THE CORNER!!!!

Here is the latest info from the flyers given out June 13th.

July 3rd-July 5th, 2008

This will be our very first family reunion planned and run by the 2nd generation.

Let’s make it fun, stress-free and simple for everyone’s budget! You like that, eh!
NOTE: As long as everyone participates, and helps with
the assignments, there will be plenty of fun for everyone!

Theme:
“Restoring Faith in The Family”
refer to April 2008, LDS Conference talk given
by Elder Kenneth Johnson of the Seventy.

IMPORTANT: Day 1 FOOD Assignments

Okay, so, everyday there will be family assignments. As there is not a family reunion fund, we all need to pitch in ... just a bit!

For day one, EVERY family needs to bring watermelon or some kind of fruit, Munchies (like chips) AND 10 lbs of any kind of meat (chicken, hamburger, hot dogs, beef- Please marinate your raw meat beforehand) for grilling.

What counts most is that you come!!!! Just bring what you can, that's all that counts...if you can't bring anything, still come!

The reunion committee will provide: rice, drinks, salad, condiments, utensils and plates.

Anything extra would be appreciated.

Day 2- Friday, July 4th, 2008

6:00am - Midnight!

We will celebrate the 4th of July at Sugarhouse Park. We will need to all meet there as early as possible and hang out all day until fireworks. There will be music and games to play. Let’s have a blast hanging out together!

IMPORTANT: Day 2 FOOD Assignments

Every family needs to bring their own food. Everyone bring coolers, chairs, mats, snacks and TONS of water or drinks. It will be a hot day. We plan to stake claim on a pavilion near the East side. Since reservations are not allowed on Holidays, it will be first come, first serve. So, let’s all make sure we are there early to fight off traffic and the crowds. There is a street fair, concert, parade and fireworks from morning to dusk. Come prepared for a long, long day.

Every family needs to bring their BEST pasta dish, example: spaghetti, lasagna, ravioli.

Bring enough pasta to feed at least 10 people. Each family needs to bring 1-2 loaves of French bread or bag of rolls. The Reunion Committee will provide drinks, utensils and plates.

===================

As you can see, this is a very simple reunion. We wanted to do this so that we can spend time enjoying one another’s company and stories, instead of stressing over money or heavy assignments. As the years go on, we will grow in our stregth and commitment to our annual reunion.
